Chaz Gorman
Assistant Coach

Chaz Gorman enters his fifth season coaching Swarthmore in 2018. He will work primarily with the face off unit and assist with the midfielders. Under Gorman’s coaching, the face off unit saw a dramatic improvement from 37% in 2013 to 51% in 2014.

Chaz is a Philadelphia native and majored in finance at Immaculata University. While at Immaculata, Gorman won 48% of his faceoffs and picked up 147 ground balls during his career. He was also named All Conference for the Colonial States Athletics Conference twice.

Currently, Chaz works as a financial advisor with UBS Financial Services.

 

Warren Danenza
Assistant Coach

Warren Danenza returns for his fourth season (2017-2018) working with defenders for the Garnet. In addition to coordinating the defense, Coach Danenza plays a primary role in recruiting and managing video exchange throughout the season.

During the 2016-2017 season, the Garnet defense held strong posting a 9.69 goals against average, penalty kill rate of 70%, held opponents to 33 shots per game and improved clearing to 80% (69% in 2016).

In addition to leading the Garnet defense, Danenza works as an educator within the William Penn School District and teaches eighth grade English at Penn Wood Middle School in Darby, Pennsylvania. Danenza earned B.A. in English and Secondary Education from Neumann College (2010), a M.Ed from Cabrini College (2014) and is currently pursuing a second M.Ed in Educational Leadership at Cabrini College (2018).

Danenza resides in South Jersey with his wife, Danielle, and daughter, Kennedy Jane.

 

Connor Bishop
Assistant Coach

Connor Bishop joins the staff prior to the 2018 season and will be working primarily with the midfielders for the Garnet. In addition to helping coordinate the offense, Bishop will play key roles in recruiting and film analysis throughout the season.

He graduated from Shenandoah University in 2017 with a B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. Connor was a two-way midfielder as well as a man up specialist throughout his lacrosse career. In his senior season, he helped lead the Hornets to their first ever ODAC tournament appearance.
